September 2010 Newsletter This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Texas High School Coaches Wives Association.    This is an organization that I have loved and cherished for years and I am honored to be leading you as president in this year of celebration.
I consider being a coach’s wife a membership into an elite group of strong and amazing women like no other group I know. We stand alongside our husbands and they mold the lives of young people and help develop character and sportsmanship along the way. Our husbands are the change makers of the next generation. As a wife of a coach we have the privilege to encourage, pray and even at times provide wisdom and understanding for the men we love and then we get to cheer them on as they take the field or the court for every game. They have an amazing job and we are blessed to be a part of it. How many other wives have those opportunities?
For those of you that missed Coaching School, we are sorry you were not able to join us. Each year we have a wonderful time together of fellowship and renewed friendships and this year was no different. Thank you to all who were involved with planning, organizing and bringing those fabulous door prizes. I’m already looking forward to next year and our 25th Anniversary Celebration.
I would like to congratulate Vickie McQueen who was honored as Woman of the Year and our scholarship winners for the year Ryan Harkness and Taylor Jones. We had a great time celebrating them at our annual meeting.
The 2010-2011 Board of Directors is listed below. Please feel free to contact your Regional Director and the officers with any questions or ideas that you may have about or organization. On behalf of the board I’d like to say we are excited about the opportunities that this year has to offer and we encourage you to get involved as much or as little as you would like. We are a strong and amazing organization and the sky is the limit with future possibilities.
Please encourage wives on your staff to become members if they haven’t already done joined. We already have 537 members and I would love for us to achieve 600 before the year is out.
